Ofcourse, guiding in Montana is seasonal. So, in the off season, I traveled south to the tropics fishing for everything both inshore and offshore and honing my skills and techniques not only fly fishing, but also bottom fishng, bait casting, surf casting, trolling, jigging, and even kite fishing. I've fished extensively in the Florida Keys, Baja Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii and New Zealand.
Over the years and throughout the world I've caught a variety of species including Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Pacific and Atlantic Sailfish, Shortbilled Spearfish, Wahoo, Dorado, Yellofin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Bonito, Yellowtail, Cubera Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Grouper, Roosterfish, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Horse-eyed Jack, Giant Trevally, Bluefin Trevally, Golden Trevally, Pompano, Snook, Sierra Mackeral, Ladyfish, Tarpon, and Bonefish to name a few.
